UGC-Senior Research Fellow
I am working on a project focused on unravelling the role of the eisosomal proteins in regulating mitochondrial function and dynamics in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. This work aims to define how plasma membrane–associated eisosomal components influence mitochondrial morphology, behavior, and homeostasis, shedding light on previously unexplored layers of inter-organellar communication.
CSIR-Senior Research Fellow
My research focuses on elucidating the role of kisspeptin in mediobasal hypothalamus (MBH)–mediated regulation of hepatic lipid metabolism and inflammation during aging.
In parallel, I study dysregulated lipid metabolism in non–small cell lung cancer cells in collaboration with University of Michigan.
Prime Minister's Research Fellow
My current research focuses on elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying mitochondrial-derived vesicle (MDV) biogenesis. I seek to understand how MDVs contribute to mitochondrial homeostasis and cellular stress responses.
Also, I employ state-of-the-art CRISPR-based genome editing, including knock-in, knockdown, and precise point mutations using Prime Editing.
Project Assistant
I am studying and characterizing the CUX1 isoforms in mitochondrial and cellular homeostasis.
